LETTERS FROM THE EDITOR, No.10 by Gordy Grundy, Editor-in-Chief Dear Art Lovers, Our Hail Mary Pass! Two weeks ago, Art Report Today announced the debut of our new online ShopArtReportToday.com, an ecommerce site to allow payments for our curated online gallery shows and the upcoming Art Drops Editions. Last week, we unveiled LOOT! by ART, a line of 77 exclusive products, themed around the arts. As a news media company, to survive in our inflationary economy and the current depression in the art market, we needed an alternative revenue source. Our LOOT! might be the bright shiny object that will get us our first press attention and a greater audience, which we sustainably need. Many snicker at the old trope 'Art is a Religion.' Then again, why shouldn't it be? And how fun if it were. Toss out the Sunday choir and let a DJ spin. This week, we are providing a first look at another exclusive line of apparel and accessories, based upon an intriguing graphic.
ART>i translates as ART is Greater Than i. Quite simply, this beautiful notion is a reminder that the story of our lives is a work of art. I added a tagline: 'Mindful. Meditative. Focused. Artful. A Revolution of Thought.' It doesn’t need it. Once you translate the graphic, the message becomes evident, vital and universal. We believe ART>i belongs in our pop culture.
